Please note you will need to configure the Whisper Mite via computer to start with (Free software) after this its standalone (read the instructions above BEFORE you order)

You will also need a standard USB-A to USB -C data cable, you may already have this. Many Cables are only Charge cables and do not allow data to be past via them. make sure you use a real Data cable , we offer a suitable low cost one here.

The Kanga Whisper Mite (KWM) is an inexpensive, easy‑to‑use way to explore low‑power WSPR (Weak Signal Propagation Reporter) operation and/or setting up a QRSS beacon. Once configured it runs standalone — no PC required — and needs only a simple wire antenna and a 5 V DC supply (phone charger or battery pack) to get on the air.

3 versions :

Low Band version 60m and 40m ( 40m is the most popular band around the world)

This version will generate the most spots as these are widly monitored bands, if your unsure about how good Whisper can be you will be amazed how far 200mW will travel using this mode, you can expect 3000km-5000km if you use a simple halfwave type antenna and monitor your reports after 24hrs.

Mid band Version 30m and 20m

This version is also a popular choice as its a better choice for DX fans, there are less monitor stations (still more than enougth !) expect great range but less spots and more effected by time of day etc.

High Band Version 15m, 12m, and 10m (User selects two bands in the setup menu)

This version, like the others is still only two bands but the user can select which  two bands from 3 it will work on in the setup menu and can change it at any time. a good choice if your a High bands user that want to keep a high on openings on these high bands.

Key Features

•            Compact power — runs from a 5 V supply and delivers 200 mW (23dB) for WSPR, but can run at higher power levels if you wish (typically 300-400mW, User adjustable)

•            Simple configuration — set single band (QRSS) or dual‑band (WSPR) using an easy serial menu (link to a suitable free terminal emulator on the Kanga Whisper Mite web page).

•            Precise timing — built‑in RTC with TXCO and battery backup keeps accurate time; a single front‑panel Sync button aligns the unit quickly.

•            Real results — low power plus a basic end‑fed half‑wave antenna often yields spots thousands of kilometres away.
